Brow Lift FAQs

What is a Brow Lift?

A brow lift is a cosmetic procedure which is performed as a surgery to improve the visible signs of aging in the brow area. Brow lifts are designed to:

  • Improve frown lines, or the vertical creases which forms between the brows
  • Raise sagging brows which cause eyelid hooding
  • Reduce wrinkle line which develop horizontally across the forehead
  • Place eyebrows in an alert, youthful orientation

Brow lifts can be performed in conjunction with facelifts, eyelid tucks, and skin resurfacing procedures.

How Long Does It Take to Recover?

Initial healing from a brow lift takes approximately 10 to 14 days. As you continue healing, makeup can help to hide any bruising and the incision lines will continue to fade for months. The doctor will recommend different things to avoid and to make sure a patient does, following these recommendations is crucial to a successful outcome. Patients may be asked to avoid clothing which must be pulled over the head and asked to keep the head elevated for a specific length of time. Patients are usually told to avoid excessive physical activity for the first phase of healing as well.

What Results Can I Expect?

Brow lift results should be immediately visible for most patients. Over time, swelling will decrease and the incision lines themselves will fade until they are barely visible. The final results of the surgery will appear over the course of a few months. To ensure the best results and that they last, patients should use sun protection consistently and build healthy lifestyle habits.
